Installation: Case Study

Objective:
To build analytical and critical research skills.

Tasks:
  • Create a pinboard and fill it with lots of examples of installation art.
  • Screenshot your Pinterest board, print and stick in your sketchbook.
  • Choose one installation artist who appeals to you and produce a case study to explore their work. Use the Research Case Studies sheet and the Ways of Looking sheet to help your case study structure and questioning.
It is important that your annotation is well researched, thought out and expressed. It is also vitally important that your pages are presented in a creative and interesting way.
N.B There must be NO copy and paste from the internet. It stands out and makes you look like you have no imagination or creativity. Ask yourself... could anyone else have written what is in your research? If the answer is yes, it is not personal enough.

Have fun with it. Presentation is vitally important - it communicates your creativity before your words do.

Time needed:
4hrs (2 lessons + 2hrs own time)

Deadline:
